Joel's story.

Hello everybody. My name is Joel and I'm going to tell you my miraculous story. This picture below shows how close I was to having my life end right before my eyes. On June 27, 2003, I was having a fabulous summer vacation in New York, when all of a sudden it turned out not so "fabulous." I was crossing the street, j-walking to be exact even though I knew it was against the law, with a couple of my friends. While minding my own business and texting on my phone, I decided to cross the street, as well as my friends. Then all of a sudden, everyone realized a bus was coming, but not me because I was too busy texting away... While my friend Thomas tried to pull me out of the way, I ended up tripping and falling flat to my face. The bus slammed its brakes just in time with a loud screeching sound and the tire landed right before my head. This picture isn't from the exact moment, but it's a replica of how close it was. Luckily, my lift was saved. Thanks to Charlie and my friend Thomas. On the other hand, I did get a ticket for j-walking.
